United Cement Co of Nigeria (UNICEM) commissioned its new line at Mfamosing, Cross River State, in September 2016. Loesche has since announced its scope of supply for the project, including the LM70.4+4CS, its largest VRM built for grinding clinker. The price of bagged cement in Lagos has risen sharply overnight, according to reports in The Nation. A 50kg bag now retails for between NGN2200 and NGN2300 (US$7-7.30), a rise of around 40 per cent on previous prices. Sinoma International announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Sinoma Construction signed a US$276.9m general contract with United Cement Company of Nigeria for a new 6250tpd line.
